Dance at Illinois Summer Programs

FAA Summer Dance IntensiveFAA Summer Dance Intensive

At this immersive, weeklong program, each high school student selects a major and minor. In the Dance major, current Dance faculty members, graduate students, and recent Dance at Illinois graduates teach classes Monday through Friday. Students will be immersed in intense technical training in modern dance and ballet. Additional styles such as jazz, hip hop, and African will also be woven into the curriculum. A challenging modern dance piece choreographed by a summer faculty member will be rehearsed during the week and performed at the open house. Participants also join in evening activities such as bowling, ice skating, sand volleyball, shopping on campus, swimming, scavenger hunts, and trips to Krannert Art Museum. The FAA Summer Dance Intensive concludes with an open house and showcase for families and participants.
